WASHINGTON, DC SEWER CLEANING AND INSPECTION CONTRACT 14
Throughout Washington, DC
Savin Engineers conducted approximately 1,400 internal manhole inspections for DC Water between November 2015 and April 2017, approximately 281,000 LF of CCTV & light/heavy cleaning of sewer pipes and Sonar Inspection of approximately 12,000 LF of sewer pipes. Pipe sizes ranged from 6” diameter up to 108” diameter. There were two specialty tasks added to the contract: East & West Outfall Relief Sewers – which included approximately 22,500 LF of combo CCTV/Sonar Inspection of 96” sewers; and Lower Eastside Interceptor – which included approximately 12,600 LF of 60” to 75” combo CCTV/Sonar Inspection of sewers. The manholes and sewer lines were throughout Washington, DC. Due to large private construction projects in the areas we needed to inspect manholes, our administrative staff were in constant communication with the various construction firms and ensured our crews had access to the correct manholes. All manhole inspections were man-entries requiring confined space entry for all inspectors.
