Savin Engineers provided Professional Engineering Services to Siemens Industry for the production of three separate bidding document packages across seven sites as part of its overall energy performance contract with Jersey City Housing Authority. The packages included:
• Lighting Conservation: included the replacement of lamps, ballasts and fixtures for exterior lightning and all tenant /common areas.
• Water Conservation: included the replacement of all tenant water closets, showerheads, sink aerators, steam traps and installation of new thermostatic radiator control valves.
• Heating & Cooling Optimization: included the creation of 13 new hot water boiler plants to decentralize 13 buildings at the Marion Gardens site, the creation of a new steam boiler plant and the replacement of a rooftop heating unit at the Booker T. Washington site.
Savin was responsible for incorporating the Siemens recommended energy efficient strategies and equipment into proper contract drawings and specifications for public bidding. The documents were produced to be complete and stand-alone in nature, and also to minimize any contractual discrepancies in the field.
