The Woodland Viaduct is a historic concrete arch bridge, which carries the Bronx River Parkway over the Bronx River and Metro-North Harlem line. Built circa 1930 the deck of the bridge was deteriorating to the point that lanes were closed. This project removed the entire bridge superstructure including deck, parapet, columns and approach slabs, and replaced it with a new wider bridge deck.
Working as the prime consultant, Savin provided complete construction management services for this project. This included project management, resident engineering, fulltime construction inspection, office engineering, and public participation. Savin coordinated numerous entities involved in the project including local homeowners, city requirements, county requirements, State and Federal oversight.
