East Quogue Union Free School District
Knowing that the boilers at East Quogue Elementary School were original to this 1950s-era school building and beyond expected useful service life, the School District had been allocating funds in its annual operating budget for several years to replace the boilers with new, more energy efficient ones. Coupled with additional grant monies obtained through the NYS Dormitory Authority's EXCEL program, the district was ready to move forward with this project during the summer. Faced with the mandate to have the new boiler operable by September 15, the district retained Savin Engineers to develop and implement a "fast track" program.
To expedite the project, Savin's personnel provided services that included designing the project, preparing all the required paperwork for the State Education Department, assisting the district with the pre-purchase of the equipment while the final design, review and approval by SED took place, and coordinating the installation of the new boilers to ensure that heat would be provided in accordance with the required schedule. Savin's ability to provide all services in-house allowed East Quogue to implement this project in a 4-month period and meet the mandated deadline. |
