The Hartford MDC is undertaking a 15 year, $1.5B upgrade to its collection system and wastewater treatment plants. The objective is to eliminate SSOs, reduce and treat CSOs, and provide nutrient removal in the treatment plants. Savin Engineers, working as a subconsultant to Malcolm Pirnie, Inc. completed a 2-year program of CCTV (closed circuit television) inspection of the sanitary sewers. Approximately 150,000 linear feet of sewer was inspected with pan and tilt cameras on a digital recording system.
