Planning
Savin Engineer's planning professionals understand the importance of assisting clients in preparing for the future and respect the often challenging and limiting parameters and deadlines that often drive the phases of a project. For this reason, planning is a process inherent in all Savin Engineers' service disciplines. Savin Engineers’ planning personnel, through studies and analysis, determine needs, consider the impact of proposed changes, set goals, and develop a realistic timeframe and strategic approach to achieve these goals within the limits of economic constraints.
Long Range Planning
Savin Engineers has the experience and ability to develop effective long range plans for clients based on current knowledge about the future including demographics, birth rates, new housing trends, space utilization, building capacity, state and federal regulations, ADA requirements, agency mandates, programmatic needs, program initiatives, housing configuration, “green” building standards, future trends and projections and physical space.
Capital Planning
Savin Engineer’s approach to capital planning begins with in-depth conditions assessments and interviews with facility personnel. Our staff of planning personnel has the expertise to identify, evaluate, document and prioritize infrastructure and operational needs, and then create proper plans for funding sustainable capital improvement activities and replacement schedules over a specified period of time. Our extensive experience in the development of multi-year capital improvement plans has helped numerous clients protect their capital investments and preserve capital expenditures by allocating resources, establishing funding levels, and planning capital projects over a specified time frame.
Planning Studies
Whether preparing a sound capital plan, preparing for future changes in regulations, or assessing environmental impacts during construction, Savin prepares comprehensive planning study reports to ensure client needs are defined and provides solutions to address those needs. Our exhaustive evaluations provide a comprehensive and accountable report of needs for our clients to develop funding and operational strategies.
Modeling
As part of planning studies, as well as detailed design efforts, it is important to utilize the latest tools and technologies to assess our clients’ needs. Computer simulated models are calibrated and used to assess existing conditions, evaluate solutions, and predict impacts of future changes. Whether it is project specific models developed in-house or commercially developed models, Savin has developed and implemented numerous models including hydraulic models, wastewater process models, gas distribution system models, structural analysis models, electrical distribution models, scheduling models, cost evaluation models and others. In all cases model output is scrutinized to ensure valid results and findings.
Cost Estimating
Regardless of the stage of a project, Savin Engineer’s cost estimators provide budgetary services that include everything from conceptual budgets and preliminary cost estimates to detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing. From the earliest stages of your project, Savin provides the necessary conceptual budgets to get projects off the ground – even if the project is just an idea with no formal drawings or plans. Our in-house estimators and state-of-the-art software allow us to develop conceptual and preliminary cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, bid estimates, and contract pricing to ensure that our projects are delivered within budget.
