Teterboro Airport
Teterboro Airport is the oldest operating airport in the New York City area. Owned by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Teterboro Airport is located in the Boroughs of Teterboro, Moonachie, and Hasbrouck Heights in Bergen County, New Jersey, twelve miles from midtown Manhattan. The airport has 19 hangars, 2 office buildings, an operations building, maintenance building, and 2 fuel farms. Savin Engineers was hired as a prime consultant to provide construction management services for major rehabilitation projects at the airport.
The contract called for Savin to assist the Port Authority with capital improvement and infrastructure projects scheduled over a nine year period. These projects included the construction of new passenger terminal buildings, new taxiways, hangars, and an airfield lighting system. The Airport’s infrastructure and utilities also received improvements including an upgrade to the drainage pumping station to alleviate flooding problems. |
