Brooklyn Battery Parking Garage
The Brooklyn Battery Parking Garage was completed in 1950 when the tunnel opened. Owned and operated by the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA), a $44 million makeover was undertaken. Savin Engineers provided construction management and inspection services that included the onsite investigation of the “Structural Rehabilitation of the Battery Parking Garage” including: structural demolition and replacement of reinforced concrete members, removal and replacement of the storm drainage system, installation of a new electrical system, and the application of waterproofing membrane. Savin also supervised the installation and painting of new concrete masonry unit block walls, and was responsible for ensuring that all project activities were in full compliance with specifications, contract drawings, submittals, as well as QA/QC and OSHA requirements. |
