This City of Attleboro conducted this study on select portions of the city’s sewer system to identify sewer reaches that contained excessive infiltration/inflow. The results from this study were used to provide recommendations for I/I removal in the wastewater collection system.
Savin Engineers provided field services starting with field reconnaissance evaluating the hydraulic conditions of manholes. Alternative locations were recommended based on the knowledge gained through field reconnaissance. Once the locations were determined, field personnel installed flow meters and groundwater gauges to monitor the flow. A total of 2 rain gauges and 20 groundwater gauges were installed.
The data from the meters and gauges were periodically gathered and analyzed. Finally, a summary report was prepared outlining the work performed along with the collected data.
