The Philadelphia Water Department is undertaking an evaluation of its entire collection system, comprised of approximately 3,000 miles of sanitary and combined sewers. Savin is assisting the City’s consultant in developing protocols for a comprehensive inspection program to be used by PWD crews.

Television Inspection: Savin is responsible for CCTV inspection of up to 600,000 LF of sewer. Up to 90% of the system is brick oval sewer. Emphasis was on identifying structural defects.

Manhole Inspections: During the course of CCTV, Savin inspected approximately 4000 manholes in the study area. GPS coordinated were obtained for each manhole and entered into the data management software system.
