Educational Division Awarded Three New CM Contracts

Port Jervis voters approved two propositions totaling $14.6 million on February 3, 2010. Proposition 1 provides $11.5 million for renovation projects designed to address school safety, security, and energy efficiency needs at the district's two elementary schools, middle school, and high school. The energy savings measures are projected to reduce annaul costs by approximately 13%, saving the district almost $300,000 annually in energy and utility costs. Proposition 2 provides $3.1 million to upgrade the district's telephone system, renovate five science classrooms at the high school, and for other needed renovations at Port Jervis High School, such as plumbing and heating upgrades.

Savin is providing construction management services at 8 school sites.

A district wide EXCEL project has been planed and is coordinated with and energy performance project. Work is scheduled through tow summers with specific system installation during the year on second shift.

The project includes roof replacement, interior renovations, electrical upgrades, technology improvements, HVAC replacement and field reconstruction.
